Is Beyonce Copying Taylor Swift?
After the Super Bowl, Beyonce dropped two new country music songs which shocked the music world. Beyonce is known for being somewhere in the pop, soul or R&B category of music, but never country music. Even though she is a Houston native she has not been known to dabble in the country music space. That along with her dying her hair patinum blonde recently and dawning some new country-esque attire, Beyonce has changed up her styles in ways that has made fans scratch their heads. One person said:
How come the conspiracy theorists haven’t started speculating that Beyonce has been cloned? Her behavior hasn’t gotten weird enough for you yet? Okay oo…Beyonce’s new look and music is giving, “we are Borg. You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile.” It’s like Taylor Swift won 4 best album Grammy’s so Beyonce dyed her hair as blonde as possible and became more country than Taylor Swift herself. I think it’s well played, but it’s super selfish and leaves a lot of fans who are not into country music disappointed. It also starts a very interesting conversation about Black identity politics.
